Pain stinks. Sounds joyful, huh? But pain does stink – and it is everywhere. As a 40 something-year-old mom of teenagers and 20 plus year veteran special educator, I have seen a lot of pain: broken hearts, hurting spirits, and tremendous physical pain.

In 2008, my daughter was diagnosed with Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), which is rated by the McGill Pain Scale as the most painful condition on earth. And as a mom, I cannot take away that physical pain. Watching my daughter writhe in pain, not being able to walk, is never easy.

But I am responsible for my response to pain. Over and over again, I have been reminded that God is faithful, He is in the details, and I can lean on Him to help me choose joy and find strength to survive another day.

This site is designed to tell the stories of God’s faithfulness in the midst of pain and encourage others to choose joy through the pain.

I’ll be following along the journey, as always…believing in better days, more ups than downs, and a lot of laughter for our amazing girls.
